Casa Blanca

This series is a response to an unanswered question: After my commercial tuna fisherman father’s boat sank, he collected insurance money. Why did he and my stepmother, move to the Mojave Desert to manage the Casa Blanca, a motel and Mobil gas station on the road to Las Vegas? I lived with my father and stepmother for a year. The series features remembrances from adolescence. Acrylic and Flashe paintings on panel. Mixed media monoprints on BFK paper, with digital printing, hand coloring, laser-cut wood blocks, linoleum blocks, lithography, pochoir and traditional printmaking techniques, with oil and water-based inks. 2000-2024
